FAQ
Straight answers, before the first call.
The questions buyers ask before the first call — licensing, the tracks we run, payment, and how we handle public-sector programs. Not here? Tell us who’s coming and a coordinator replies within 24 hours.
Who is HYEAN and what kind of DMC are you?
- HYEAN (㈜혜안) is the Korean company that operates Keen Korea, an expert-led inbound DMC. We are not a generic package agency — we plan, run, document and settle expert-led trips in-house, from heritage and regeneration study tours to government exchanges.
Do you operate inbound or outbound?
- We are, first and foremost, a Korea inbound DMC — Korea-wide insight trips and MICE for delegations, institutions and travel partners coming to Korea. Our delivered work is inbound: urban-regeneration study tours, government-to-government exchange and FAM tours. Bespoke outbound journeys are available on request, but Korea inbound is our focus.
Who actually leads the tours, and where are you based?
- HYEAN leads on the ground from its base in Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do — founder and CEO Kim Do-kyung, a senior co-lead from the Korean public sector, and named local experts arranged per program. There is no outsourced handoff: the people who plan your program are the people who run it.
Can you host a foreign government delegation in Korea?
- Yes — we coordinate foreign-government and government-to-government exchanges on the Korean side. We have designed a Taiwanese-government-funded youth program in Buyeo, and delivered a public-agency-commissioned FAM tour through full reporting and settlement.
Do you handle halal, dietary and accessibility needs?
- Yes — dietary and accessibility needs are managed as billing-grade data, not afterthoughts. We handle halal, celiac, dairy and no-beef requirements and mobility needs (for example, elevator-adjacent rooming and short walking routes), confirming halal catering or bento alternatives in regions where certified restaurants are limited.
Which segments do you serve?
- We serve four buyer segments: study tours and technical visits, government and institutional exchange (B2G), MICE and incentive / FAM tours, and cultural, heritage and academic tours. Each track is planned and run in-house by the same team, so the people who scope your delegation are the people who lead it.
What is the signature Baekje Heritage Journey?
- The Baekje Heritage Journey is an expert-led trip through the two royal capitals of the ancient kingdom of Baekje (BC 18 – AD 660) — Gongju (Ungjin) and Buyeo (Sabi) — extended along the relocation axis to Sejong, and endorsed by the Korea Heritage Service. It is centred on the UNESCO World Heritage Baekje Historic Areas, which cover Gongju and Buyeo; Sejong is included as the relocation-axis link city, not as an inscribed site. HYEAN operates this journey directly from its Buyeo base.
What languages do you operate in?
- We operate in Korean, English and Traditional Chinese, producing both guest and institutional documents in all three — Traditional Chinese in Taiwan-market conventions, not auto-converted Simplified. This website is also available in Japanese, and Japanese-language documents can be arranged on request.
How do payment and currencies work?
- We invoice through HYEAN, the licensed operating company, and can work in major currencies for international buyers, with single-room and similar supplements itemized as separate lines. Public-sector engagements follow the client procurement and settlement process; private engagements are confirmed by proposal and invoice before departure.
Are you licensed and insured for inbound travelers?
- Yes — HYEAN holds Comprehensive Travel Business registration, the tier required to directly operate inbound travel for foreign visitors in Korea, and is enrolled in business-deposit insurance. The exact registration number, authority and bond figures are published from the certificates only once confirmed.
Do you do B2G procurement, reporting and settlement?
- Yes — we deliver the full public-sector lifecycle. On the Daegu Fantasia FAM tour we handled commencement, interim and final reports, billing, a completion notice and a satisfaction survey, then settled the program.
How fast do you respond to a request?
- We reply within 24 hours. A HYEAN coordinator responds directly — usually with a similar case and concrete next steps — rather than routing you through a call centre.
